Is it difficult to park in Saint-Tropez?
Parking in Saint-Tropez is one of the most daunting challenges on the Var coast. Let’s face it: parking conditions your entire visit, even before you leave the freeway. The village has just one main access road, the RD 98A, which is saturated from 10 a.m. at the height of summer. We’ve noticed that visitors who arrive without a strategy waste precious time driving around, sometimes for more than an hour, before finding a solution. Visitor numbers peak in July and August, but parking lots are under pressure from May until October. Planning your parking in advance, choosing the right spot as soon as you enter town, is the key to a successful day.

Parking in Saint-Tropez: summary
Careful street parking
On-street parking is available in Saint-Tropez, but is subject to strict seasonal regulations. From April 1 to November 11, 7 days a week – including Sundays and public holidays – all blue zone spaces are subject to a charge. The maximum time allowed is 3 hours 24 minutes, which rules out any prolonged stay in the village. In the event of overrun or non-payment, the Forfait Post-Stationnement (FPS) is €30.50. We recommend using the EasyPark app, which lets you set, adjust and extend the session from your phone without having to return to the car. We would also point out that this time limit makes the roadway unsuitable for a full-day visit. Note that the municipality has introduced 1 hour of free parking every 24 hours, even in midsummer.

Free parking
The free possibilities are real, but limited in time or space. From November 12 to March 31, there’s no charge for parking in the blue zone: the ideal window of opportunity for travelers visiting Saint-Tropez out of season. Please note, however, that parking is not unlimited, but restricted to 2 hours free parking every 3 hours 24 minutes. We take this opportunity to remind you that the low season radically transforms the village experience. For the rest of the year, the Plage de la Bouillabaisse parking lot (in the commune of Gassin, near Saint-Tropez) is the only free option close to the center, with a 15-20 minute walk. In addition, the public parking lots on the beaches of Pampelonne, in the neighboring commune of Ramatuelle, are free of charge before 11am and after 5pm all year round. We recommend the latter option for beach days organized outside peak hours.

The main parking lots for tourists
- Parking du Nouveau Port – Outdoor, 24h/24, paying (30min free)
The large structure at the entrance to the town, 1,477 places, direct access to the port quays. - Parc des Lices – Underground, 24 hours a day, chargeable (30min free)
307 spaces, ideal for immediate access to the historic center and Place des Lices - Parking Foch – Underground, 24h/24, paying (30min free)
100 spaces in the heart of town, behind the town hall - Parking de la Place du XVe Corps – Outdoor, 24 hours a day except Tuesday and Saturday mornings (market), chargeable
90 very central spaces, 1 hour free for every 24 hours – but active pound on market days - Parking de l’Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez – Underground, 24 hours a day during summer season only, fee payable
220 spaces, top-of-the-range valet parking, at the entrance to the village center
Details of each parking lot later in the article.
Prices for 2 hours range from €6.10 to €8.00, depending on the structure.
24h rate: €56.40 at Parking du Nouveau Port (2026 high season rate).
Essential tips
- In July and August, parking lots fill up very early: it’s imperative to arrive before 9am, or even before 8am to avoid traffic jams on the RD 98A.
- If you’re staying in Saint-Tropez, ask your accommodation provider about parking options.
- Don’t look for a parking space in the center of town by wandering down the narrow streets: stop at the entrance to the town at the Parking du Nouveau Port and walk into the village.
- On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Place du XVe Corps hosts the Provencal market: parking before 3 p.m. means immediate impoundment.
- As in all tourist areas: do not leave any visible objects in the passenger compartment, and place all your belongings in the closed trunk before arriving at your destination.
- For stays of several days, the Parking du Nouveau Port accepts the Ulys electronic toll tag, making it easy to get in and out without looking for your ticket.

Where to park to get closer to specific places in Saint-Tropez
Most of Saint-Tropez’s attractions are concentrated in a small area around the Old Port and historic center, but some sites, such as the beaches of Pampelonne, are several kilometers away. Here are our recommendations for your destination.
See our article on Saint-Tropez’s top attractions.

Where to park to visit the historic center: the Ponche and the Old Port
For a stroll through the medieval streets of the Ponche and along the quays of the Old Port, there are two parking lots within easy reach. Parc des Lices leads directly into the heart of the village, just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Place des Lices and the Provencal market. We particularly appreciate its underground location, which protects cars from the summer heat. Alternatively, the Parking Foch, located behind the town hall, offers the same centrality for those wishing to reach the Vieux Port or the Citadelle without detouring. We recommend arriving before 9 a.m. in high season: places sell out very quickly in both facilities.

Where to park to visit the Old Port and quayside
The Vieux Port is the nerve center of Saint-Tropez, the place where photographs are taken, the place where aperitifs are enjoyed, the place where yachts rub shoulders with the pointus. To get as close as possible, there are two obvious options:
- Parking du Nouveau Port – direct and immediate access to the quays from the parking lot exit, at the very entrance to Saint-Tropez.
- Parking de la Place du XVe Corps – very central, a stone’s throw from the port, 1 hour free for every 24 hours; however, be careful on market days (Tuesdays and Saturdays before 3 p.m.).

Where can I park to visit the beaches of Pampelonne?
The beaches of Pampelonne are located in the commune of Ramatuelle, about 5km south of Saint-Tropez. To get there, the public beach parking lots are directly accessible by car. We’d like to point out a significant advantage: these parking lots are free of charge before 11am and after 5pm all year round. Early in the morning, you can take advantage of both free parking and a beach that’s still relatively uncrowded. We advise you to bring a picnic lunch so you can stay until late afternoon and leave in the free evening slot. In the middle of the day, however, expect to pay for on-site parking.

The best parking lots for visiting Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez has five main parking structures designed for tourists, each with a specific purpose depending on your destination in the village.
Parking du Nouveau Port
The Parking du Nouveau Port is the main gateway to Saint-Tropez for motorized visitors. We recommend it first and foremost to those arriving in high season: its capacity of 1,477 places makes it the only structure capable of absorbing the largest flows. Its direct access to the port’s docks is a major asset.
- GPS entrance : 1 Avenue du Général de Gaulle, Saint-Tropez (43.2704, 6.6354)
- 1,477 spaces (including 24 PRM spaces and 8 bus spaces)
- Open 24/7
- Paying (30 minutes free). 2026 high season rates: €4.50 for 1h; €7.30 for 2h; €56.40 for 24h
- Outdoor
- Secure: yes – cameras and security guards, very well lit
- Maximum authorized height: 2.10m
- Fast electric charging stations (Electric 55 Charging network and Territoire d’Énergie 83)
- Ulys electronic toll tag compatible (practical for long stays)

Parc des Lices
The Parc des Lices is the ideal way to reach the historic center immediately. Its underground position, at the foot of Place des Lices, makes it the most strategic parking lot for exploring the village on foot. We would like to draw your attention to an important technical constraint: the passage height is limited to 1.85m, which means that tall SUVs and cars with roof boxes are not allowed access. We’ve found that this detail surprises many visitors at the entrance; check the height of your vehicle before entering the ramp.
- GPS entrance : 41 Avenue Paul Roussel, Saint-Tropez (43.2685, 6.6395)
- 307 places (including 5 PRM places)
- Open 24/7
- Paying (30 minutes free). Approx. € 7.00 for 2 hours
- Underground
- Secure: yes
- Electric charging stations available
- Strict maximum height: 1.85m (excluding tall SUVs and roof boxes)
Parking Foch
The Parking Foch is the smallest of the center’s underground structures, but its location behind the town hall makes it an invaluable resource when the Parc des Lices is full. We also recommend it to visitors who want to quickly reach the village’s shopping streets without crossing the harbor.
- GPS entrance: 19 Avenue de la Résistance, Saint-Tropez
- 100 places (including 2 PMR places)
- Open 24/7
- Paying (30 minutes free). Approx. € 8.00 for 2 hours
- Underground
- Secure: yes

Parking de la Place du XVe Corps
The Parking de la Place du XVe Corps is the most economical solution for short-term parking right in the center of town. Its special feature: one free hour per 24-hour period, a unique advantage among St Tropez facilities. We appreciate this special rate for short stops. But its accessibility is conditioned by the schedule of the twice-weekly Provencal market: on Tuesdays and Saturdays before 3pm, the pound is active and immediate. We therefore strongly advise against using it on these mornings.
- GPS entrance: Place du 15ème Corps, Saint-Tropez
- 90 places (including 2 PMR places)
- Open 24 hours a day, except Tuesdays and Saturdays from 00:00 to 15:00
- Paying – 1 hour free for every 24 hours. Price: €6.10 for 2 hours
- Outdoor (on roads)
- Secured: no (conventional surveillance of public thoroughfares)
- Electric charging stations available
- Please note: twice-weekly market area – active pound on Tuesdays and Saturdays before 3 p.m.
Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez parking lot
The Parking de l’Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez is the top-of-the-range solution for travelers who want to combine comfort and maximum security. However, we would like to point out one essential constraint: it is only open during the summer season, from early April to around mid-October, and remains closed the rest of the year. The valet parking available makes it the smoothest option for those who arrive directly at the village entrance and don’t want to look for parking themselves. We particularly recommend it for travelers staying at the Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez or in the immediate vicinity.
- GPS entrance: 1 Traverse de la Gendarmerie, Saint-Tropez
- 220 seats
- Open 24 hours a day in summer only (closed from mid-October to early April).
- Chargeable. Approx. € 8.00 for 2 hours
- Underground
- Secure: yes (high level of security)
- Premium valet parking available

Where can I park for free in Saint-Tropez?
Free options in Saint-Tropez are rare in high season, and it’s best to be realistic about their constraints. Here we present the low-cost alternatives available, with full disclosure of their respective limitations.
- From November 12 to March 31, all blue zone parking spaces (Avenue du 8 Mai 1945, Avenue du Général de Gaulle, Boulevard Louis Blanc, etc.) are free of charge. This is the best time to visit Saint-Tropez by car without parking constraints.
- Parking de la Plage de la Bouillabaisse: the only real good deal, free all year round, close to the center. Located just at the entrance to Saint-Tropez, it involves a 15-20min walk to the Vieux Port. We particularly recommend it for families willing to walk a little to save on parking. (GPS: Saint-Tropez entrance, Bouillabaisse sector)
- Pampelonne (Ramatuelle) beach parking lots: free before 11am and after 5pm all year round. Ideal for a beach day organized off-peak.

HAVE FUN WITH THESE activities
- Great kayak trips in:
Saint-Tropez to the Ramatuelle reserve
Cassis to the calanques - Helicopter flight from Cannes
- Shuttle service along the coast between Nice and Saint-Tropez
- Bike tours: eBike in Nice – Mountain biking in the Esterel massif

Where to avoid parking in Saint-Tropez?
Parking regulations in Saint-Tropez are particularly strict. It’s best to be aware of the pitfalls before leaving the car anywhere, or risk financial penalties.
- La Ponche and the historic heart: the medieval streets are extremely narrow, lined with cul-de-sacs, and largely reserved for residents. Automatic license plate reading cameras are in use. The risk of getting stuck or receiving a hefty fine is very high. We strongly advise against driving in these areas.
- Place du XVe Corps on Tuesdays and Saturdays before 3 p.m.: the area is transformed into a Provencal market, and any remaining vehicles are systematically impounded. No tolerance is allowed.
- Downtown by car in July and August: the RD 98A, the only access road, is saturated from 10am. It’s essential to stop at the Parking du Nouveau Port on entering the town, rather than trying to reach the Lices by car. Every extra kilometer travelled potentially represents 30 to 60 minutes lost in traffic jams.

FAQ – Parking in Saint-Tropez
Where to park without walking too far in Saint-Tropez?
For families with strollers, people with reduced mobility, or those who simply prefer to minimize walking, the Parking du Nouveau Port is the most suitable option: its exit leads directly onto the quays, with no elevation changes or detours. To reach the heart of the village, the Parc des Lices and Parking Foch allow you to walk straight out into the historic center. Please note that both underground structures have dedicated PRM spaces; please check their availability by arriving early. We recommend arriving before 9 a.m. in high season to maximize the chances of finding a free PRM space.

Secure underground parking lots in Saint-Tropez
If you’re leaving your car behind for several days, or traveling with a heavy load of luggage, three parking lots stand out for their high level of security. The Parc des Lices, the Parking Foch and the Parking de l’Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez are all closed, illuminated underground structures under constant surveillance. We particularly recommend the Parking du Nouveau Port for longer stays, because of its Ulys badge compatibility and 24-hour surveillance by agents and cameras. However, we do not recommend Place du XVe Corps for vehicles parked for several days, as the structure is outside and has no security guards.
Is there a 24-hour parking lot in Saint-Tropez?
Good news for travelers arriving at night or leaving early in the morning: four parking lots operate continuously, 7 days a week – the Parking du Nouveau Port, the Parc des Lices, the Parking Foch and the Parking de l’Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez (in season). The Parking de la Place du XVe Corps is closed on Tuesdays and Saturdays from midnight to 3pm. The automatic pay stations accept cash, bank cards and the EasyPark application for payment by phone. We advise you to prepare a contactless payment system to facilitate entry and exit, especially at night.
Where is the cheapest parking lot in Saint-Tropez?
For a very short stopover, the Parking de la Place du XVe Corps is the best value thanks to its daily free hour, then €6.10 for 2 hours. For a full day, the Plage de la Bouillabaisse parking lot is unbeatable, as it’s free all year round, for the price of a 15-20min walk to the port. We’d like to emphasize this good deal, which is often overlooked by passing visitors. Between the central underground structures, rates for 2 hours range from €7.00 (Parc des Lices) to €8.00 (Parking Foch and Parking de l’Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez). We recommend that you compare by duration rather than by proximity alone.

Can I book a parking lot in Saint-Tropez in advance?
No, it is not possible to reserve or block a space in advance in the public parking lots managed by the city. The EasyPark application facilitates remote payment, but does not guarantee a physical parking space. The only early booking options are in private hotel parking lots or for members of the Saint-Tropez Lounge Club, who have reserved spaces on the port’s median strip. We therefore recommend arriving early, as soon as the village opens, rather than relying on a reservation. We’d also like to point out that in high season, even an 8:30 am arrival can be late for the most central parking lots.
