The best hotels in Cassis: our 2 favorites

Before discovering our detailed reviews of each of the establishments we have selected, take a look at our 2 favorite addresses.

Best luxury hotel: Hôtel Les Roches Blanches (5 stars)

View of the Hôtel Les Roches Blanches swimming pool.

We were delighted with our stay at this 5-star establishment! As you can see, it has 2 outdoor infinity pools with magnificent views of the Mediterranean! They reflect the rest of the hotel, decorated in a chic, elegant and modern style.

See photos, prices and availability.

Best 4-star hotel: Hôtel HPC Suites

View of the façade of the HPC Suites Hotel.

This contemporary hotel, in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature, was particularly appealing to us. This little haven of peace has all the hallmarks of a luxury hotel, with its large outdoor pool and sleek, elegant decor. We think some of its facilities (studios, table tennis, board games) make it ideal for family vacations.

See photos, prices and availability.

Best affordable hotel: Hôtel Eden (3 stars)

View of the room at the Hotel Eden.

This 3-star hotel offers excellent value for money. We really enjoyed spending a night at this hotel. Our room was comfortable and had a large balcony. We could also relax around the outdoor pool, surrounded by a Jacuzzi and sauna.

Where to sleep in Cassis: the best districts

Why sleep in Cassis?

Cassis is an ideal place for a short break. It’s the starting point for many hiking trails to discover the famous Parc National des Calanques. To visit them, you could also stay in Marseille, but Cassis offers more peace and quiet and, above all, a magnificent setting. The village is easily accessible from Marseille.

The best places to stay in Cassis: map

Our map will help you find your way around, showing the 3 main areas to stay in Cassis: the town center, Plage du Bestouan and the village heights.

Map of the best places to stay in Cassis.

Staying downtown

View of Cassis harbor.

The center of Cassis unfolds around its charming fishing port. This is where almost all the village’s shops and restaurants are concentrated. It’s also the area with the most hotels!

Benefits:

  • Numerous shops and restaurants nearby.
  • The best views of the port, the colorful facades of Provencal houses and the turquoise Mediterranean!

Disadvantages:

  • Potential noise pollution and high tourist numbers: this attractive area attracts a large number of tourists, particularly in summer.
  • Limited parking: due to the area’s frequentation and characteristics (e.g. narrow streets), parking is difficult. We recommend parking in public parking lots, such as the Cassis Les Mimosas Effia parking lot (a 10-minute walk from the port).

Our favorite hotels:

In addition to Hôtel Eden, which we’ve already mentioned, we recommend Hôtel Particulier HPC. This 4-star establishment, a 10-minute walk from the port, boasts a large outdoor pool with sea view – see photos and availability.

We also recommend the Hôtel Royal Cottage, 300m from the Casino. It will seduce you with its tropical garden, swimming pool and peaceful setting – see photos and availability.

Finally, if you want to be right in the village center, you can opt for the 3-star Best Western Coeur de Cassis hotel & spa – see photos and availability.

Staying near the beach

View of the Corton Cassis beach.

Cassis has several beaches. If you want to stay close to the beach, you’ll need to choose a hotel close to the Bestouan pebble beach.

Benefits:

  • Close to the beach.
  • Beach bars in season.
  • Magnificent scenery.

Disadvantages:

  • High visitor numbers, especially in summer, even though the beach is not very large.
  • Potential noise from visitor traffic.
  • Parking difficulties (remember to reserve a space in your hotel parking lot!)
  • A little out of the way, it’s a 15-minute walk to the center with its shops.

Our favorite hotels:

Once again, we recommend our favorite luxury hotel, Les Roches Blanches! It’s a 5-minute walk from the beach – see photos and availability.

We recommend the Hôtel de la Plage Mahogany, whose beach-inspired decor we really appreciated – see photos and availability.

Finally, you can opt for Hôtel Le Jardin d’Émile, housed in a beautiful red Provencal building – see photos and availability.

Sleeping in the hills above Cassis

View over the heights of Cassis.

This is a quiet, residential area. It’s also the closest to the station. It’s served by the M01 bus line, but the center is also within walking distance (about 20min).

Benefits:

  • Nearest train station (25min walk), 5min with M01 bus (St-Jean stop).
  • Peace and quiet.

Disadvantages:

  • Off-center area.
  • Less pretty views and landscapes.

Our favorite hotels:

In this area, we recommend the 3-star Les Jardins de Cassis hotel. It features an outdoor pool with Jacuzzi and sauna, elegant decor and parking – see photos and availability.

Other tips to keep in mind

Cassis, located close to Marseille, is particularly popular during the summer months. The village is a starting point for visiting the famous Parc National des Calanques. Prices are therefore high. We therefore advise you to book as early as possible so that you can choose your hotel and benefit from the best rates.

During the off-season, some hotels in Cassis and the surrounding area close. We prefer the Booking platform, as calendars are updated in real time. You’ll quickly find out if the establishment is open on the dates you requested.

It’s difficult to park and get around in the center of Cassis, especially in summer. We advise you to make your way on foot, as all points of interest are within easy reach.

On the other hand, if you want to take full advantage of the region’s landscapes and hinterland, you’ll absolutely need a car. Most hotels have private parking lots, so remember to reserve your space!

From our spacious room, with its refined art deco-inspired decor, and from the restaurants, we were able to take full advantage of these exceptional views. This 4-star establishment impressed us. We weren’t expecting to discover a park of almost 4000m2 in the center of Cassis! At the heart of the contemporary-style building is a large outdoor swimming pool. If you’re a racket sports fan like us, you’ll be delighted to discover a ping-pong table. But in our opinion, the main advantage of this accommodation is that it offers 12 apartments ranging from 45 to 60m² for 2 to 5 people, with terrace and kitchen! This is the option to choose if you want to enjoy the services of a hotel with the advantages of a vacation rental!

4. Hotel Le Jardin d’Émile

We fell under the spell of this typically Provencal building with its terracotta hues. Just 400m from the port and a stone’s throw from the beach, this is the ideal accommodation for Mediterranean lovers! The hotel’s pleasant terrace and warm decor immediately put us in a vacation mood. The advantage of this establishment is that the majority of its rooms have their own terrace, and its suites can accommodate up to 4 people. Don’t hesitate if you want to enjoy a peaceful Provencal vacation!

This 3-star hotel features an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi set in a lush garden. This is an establishment to consider if you’re a family, as it has rooms and suites that can accommodate up to 4 people. We found its location particularly interesting: 300m from the Casino Barrière and a 10-minute walk from the port, it offers a particularly quiet environment.

6. Mahogany Beach Hotel

View of the Hôtel de la Plage facade.

Why stay there?

We particularly enjoyed our stay at the Mahogany Beach Hotel. We fell under the spell of its main terrace, with its beach-inspired decor and superb sea view. We had breakfast there, and it was very rejuvenating! Our room was also beautifully decorated, with soft hues, rattan and elements reminiscent of the beach. Our well-equipped balcony also offered magnificent views of the Mediterranean. Last but not least, you can enjoy a restaurant, a small swimming pool, and treatments – all major assets for a 3-star establishment! However, it closes in winter.

7. Hotel Les Jardins de Cassis

View of the entrance to the Hotel Les Jardins de Cassis.

Why stay there?

Although a little out of the center of Cassis (20min walk), this 3-star hotel is well worth the effort! It offers modern, comfortable rooms, most with balcony or terrace. They open onto a Provencal garden whose scents will delight you! We were won over by its relaxation area, featuring an outdoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and cold rain shower. We also appreciate that its bar is open 24/7 for a snack or a drink. However, our favorite is the games area. The pool area features table soccer, billiards and table tennis: a dream for young and old alike!

8. Best Western Coeur de Cassis Hotel & Spa

View of the entrance to the Best Western Cassis Hotel.

Why stay there?

We recommend this 3-star establishment if you want to stay in the center of Cassis and enjoy a spa. You’ll discover contemporary rooms, with headboards depicting the region’s landscapes. A large lounge with adjoining terrace is available for breakfast, which is served buffet-style. But it’s the spa that really caught our attention. It includes a hammam, sauna, acquasensory pool, showers and, more original, an herbal tea room with salt wall. It was ideal for relaxing, as was the rooftop!
