Where to sleep in Antibes: best places/neighborhoods
Is spending the night in Antibes worth it?
Absolutely! We truly believe that Antibes is an ideal place to discover the Côte d’Azur. This human-sized town, which includes Europe’s largest marina, offers a wide range of activities: museums, a rich heritage with the famous Fort Carré, beaches and entertainment. You’ll feel like you’re on vacation right away, while still being close to Nice and Cannes.
We recommend spending several nights in Antibes to visit the town and surrounding area. Find out all the ideas for activities in Antibes in our dedicated article!
Sleeping in the old town
The old town of Antibes lies between Port Vauban and Plage du Ponteil. Along the Promenade de l’Amiral de Grasse, the town’s ramparts give it a charm all of its own. In the center, you’re within walking distance of numerous monuments, museums and shops.
Benefits:
- Monuments and museums within easy walking distance.
- Wide choice of restaurants and bars.
- Entertainment venues (casino/cinema).
- Numerous boutiques and artists’ studios.
- Charming colorful streets and ramparts.
- Starting points for walks: Promenade de l’Amiral de Grasse and Port Vauban promenade.
Disadvantages:
- Potential noise: as this is the most touristic area, it can be noisy.
- Visitor numbers: tourist district.
- Limited parking: parking in Old Antibes is complicated, so you’ll probably have to opt for a paid underground parking lot, such as Q-Park.
- Busy: this area is very busy and generates a lot of traffic, especially on the outskirts of town.
- You’ll need to drive to Juan-les-Pins to enjoy the larger beaches, as those in the center of town are quickly overcrowded and smaller.
- You’ll need a car to enjoy the panoramic views of Cap d’Antibes and the coastal path.
Our favorite hotels:
We recommend the Hôtel la Villa Port d’Antibes & Spa, with its swimming pool, spa and harbor views – see photos and availability.
We also recommend the Hôtel Djoliba, for its swimming pool, calm and vacation atmosphere – see photos and availability.
Sleeping in Juan-les-Pins
Juan-les-Pins is the seaside resort of Antibes. You’ll find shops and numerous beaches, most of them large and lively with restaurants. Most hotels are within walking distance. If you’re looking for a relaxing setting, this is the option for you!
Benefits:
- Large beaches within walking distance.
- Vacation atmosphere.
- Entertainment with beach bars and restaurants.
- Quiet outside summer.
- Beautiful views over the Bay of Cannes and the Lérins Islands, accessible by ferry.
Disadvantages:
- A car is required for most visits and to reach the center of Antibes.
- The beaches of Juan-les-Pins are popular during the summer season, as is the Jazz Festival (Jazz à Juan), held in the seaside resort in July.
Our favorite hotels:
We recommend the Hotel Alexandra, which offers very pleasant surroundings in a superb listed building dating from 1860 – see photos and availability.
We also recommend Hôtel Sainte-Valérie, a 4-star establishment with an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, marked by Provencal charm – see photos and availability.
Sleeping near the beach
Would you like to sleep no more than a 5-minute walk from the beach? It’s possible in Antibes. We’ve selected for you accommodation close to the 2 southern beaches of Vieil Antibes: Plage du Ponteil and Plage de la Salis. We love them because they offer magnificent views of the snow-covered Southern Alps!
Benefits:
- Beaches within 5-minute walk.
- Superb views of Old Antibes and the peaks of the Alps.
- There are a number of beach bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
- The center of Antibes can be reached on foot in around 20 minutes.
- Juan-les-Pins can be reached in around 20 minutes on foot.
- Calm and vacation atmosphere.
Disadvantages:
- You’ll need a car to enjoy Cap d’Antibes.
- You’ll have to go to Vieil Antibes or Juan-les-Pins to take advantage of the shops and livelier neighborhood life.
Our favorite hotels:
For a stay with your feet in the water, you can opt for Hôtel la Jabotte, located just a 2-minute walk from Plage de la Salis! – see photos and availability.
We also recommend Hôtel Josse, on the edge of Plage du Ponteil, which offers sea-facing rooms only – see photos and availability.
We recommend Hôtel le Ponteil, set in a Provencal villa with rustic charm – see photos and availability.
Sleeping at Cap d’Antibes
Cap d’Antibes is a must-see when visiting Antibes. Its rocky, ochre-colored coasts and turquoise coves offer magnificent scenery. With its coastal path leading to the famous Baie des Milliardaires and its lighthouse, a visit to Cap d’Antibes will be one to remember!
Benefits:
- Beautiful scenery.
- Well-developed hotel offer.
- Calm.
- Easily accessible coastal path and Bois de la Garoupe.
Disadvantages:
- At the end of Cap d’Antibes, you need a car to get to the town center and to Juan-les-Pins.
- It’s a quiet, residential neighborhood, so you’ll need to get around by car to enjoy all the amenities (restaurants, bars, shops).
- Only La Garoupe beach and its beach restaurants are within easy reach.
Our favorite hotels:
We recommend Hôtel la Villa Cap d’Antibes, near Juan-les-Pins, with its exotic ambience – see photos and availability.
We also recommend the Hotel Villa Fabulite, a 4-star establishment in a lush setting with spa – see photos and availability.
Finally, we recommend the Hôtel Miramar Cap d’Antibes, a 3-star property just a stone’s throw from Plage de la Garoupe – see photos and availability.
Other tips to keep in mind
The town of Antibes, ideally situated on the Côte d’Azur between Cannes and Nice, is particularly popular during the summer months. Prices are therefore high. We therefore advise you to book as early as possible so that you can choose your hotel and benefit from the best rates.
Parking and getting around in Old Antibes can be difficult. We recommend visiting this part of the city on foot, by bus, or even by train!
On the other hand, if you want to take full advantage of the region’s landscapes and hinterland, you’ll absolutely need a car.

Here’s a 3-star boutique hotel, which also offers a tea room and lounge bar, in Old Antibes. This establishment has an interesting decorative bias, with the omnipresence of purple in the common areas. In other words, if you don’t like this color, don’t bother! It was here that the novelist wrote Tendre est la Nuit. In those days, the Villa vibrated to the rhythm of social evenings, attended by American celebrities who had come to discover the Côte d’Azur. In 1929, the villa became a hotel with a wide range of facilities (private beach, water sports, restaurant, bar…). The retro-chic decor, inspired by Art Deco, transports us to another era!
