Would you like to stay in a hotel with a view of the sparkling sea? And perhaps you too would like direct access to the beach?
Here’s our selection of the best seaside hotels on the Côte d’Azur with our photos and reviews.
This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Our selection of seaside hotels on the Côte d’Azur
The Côte d’Azur has a wide choice of hotels with wonderful sea views, and some even have their feet in the sand or water!
In this article, we’ve chosen our favorites (so far).
The Côte d’Azur has no officially defined boundaries. We choose the modern vision that stretches from Cassis to Menton.
Note: Saint-Tropez has some very nice hotels not far from the water, but very few have a sea view or direct access to a beach… You won’t find them here.
1. Hotel Roches Blanches (Cassis)
Why stay there
We were totally enchanted by the atmosphere of this hotel. Our stay was extremely soothing and inspiring. It’s truly an iconic establishment offering one of the most breathtaking views on the Côte d’Azur.
We were particularly enchanted by the infinity pools with their breathtaking sea views.
The hotel becomes even more magical as the sun sets, tinting the surrounding cliffs in a magnificent glow. From our spacious room, with its refined art deco-inspired decor, and from the restaurants, we were able to take full advantage of this exceptional view.

Why stay there
Situated on a small cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, this hotel offers an idyllic setting with a breathtaking view of the sea and cliffs. We were seduced by the refined elegance of the hotel, its inner courtyard perfect for a drink and its swimming pool overlooking the coastline.
The dinner we enjoyed at the restaurant was just as enchanting, and we’d like to offer our special congratulations to the pastry chef.

3. Hôtel Le Negresco (Nice)
Why stay there
A veritable institution in Nice, the Hotel Le Negresco is a mythical place where art is particularly honored, and we were delighted. Nearly 6,000 works of art are displayed throughout this sumptuous palace, dating from Louis XIII to the present day, to the delight of our eyes. This collection is a wonderful tribute to our cultural and artistic heritage!
But Le Negresco is also the legend of the French Riviera, French-style refinement, with 2 gourmet restaurants, one of which is Michelin-starred, La Rotonde and Le Chantecler, located within the hotel itself. One evening we enjoyed a very pleasant 3-course meal under the starry ceiling of the Rotonde restaurant. In short, it was an enchanted and highly poetic interlude that transported us out of time. A must-see place!

4. Hôtel Villa Mauresque (Saint-Rapahël)
Why stay there
Nestled between Saint-Raphaël and the red rocks of the Esterel, the hotel is like a small oasis of tranquility by the sea.
We appreciated its relaxed atmosphere and the abundance of greenery that creates a sense of being hidden from the rest of the world.
The building itself is remarkable, erected in 1881 by a doctor. This villa has been restored while preserving its original character, giving the ensemble a truly singular ambience.

5. Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort (Monaco)
Why stay there
This 4-star resort hotel is one of our favourites in Monaco! We were seduced by its size and luxurious contemporary decor. Our room was comfortable and modern, with a pleasant balcony. But above all, we were won over by this establishment’s splendid lagoon! It’s actually an outdoor pool topped by several decks, with various places to have a drink, or simply relax in the sun with your feet in the water, overlooking the sea. This place was incredible. Like the Hôtel de la Villa Mauresque, this 5-star establishment is located on the seafront. Its trump card is undoubtedly its natural seawater pool, nestled in the rocks on the coast. If you prefer fresh water, there’s also a small pool with a sea view. We recommend this accommodation if you want to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Cap de l’Estérel. Comfortably seated on the hotel’s private beach, you’ll enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Bay of Cannes, while you feast your eyes! A temple of luxury and glamour, the history of this emblematic establishment is linked to the Film Festival. Maybe you’ll even sleep in the room of a celebrity you admire?

Inaugurated in 1848, the Anantara Plaza hotel is housed in a magnificent Belle Époque building facing the Promenade du Paillon, Jardin Albert 1er and close to Place Masséna. This exceptional establishment in the city of Nice won us over with the quality of its welcome, its attention to detail and its little touches for us, the customers. We were conquered by its restaurant and its terrace with an exceptional view on the sea. 11. Hotel The Maybourne Riviera (near Monaco)
