Are you looking for a charming hotel in Nice, away from the big, impersonal chains? The capital of the French Riviera is home to magnificent boutique hotels, housed in elegant Belle Époque villas, historic mansions, or intimate, design-focused properties. These small establishments charm guests with their tasteful decor, intimate atmosphere, and personalized service, offering a much more authentic experience than a traditional hotel.
To help you find that hidden gem, we’ve selected the most beautiful boutique hotels in Nice: charming properties, ideally located for enjoying the Promenade des Anglais, Old Nice, and the city’s Mediterranean atmosphere.

This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
A Selection of Charming Hotels in Nice
Nice has a fine selection of charming hotels, although the number of true boutique hotels is more limited than in other major French cities. Most of these are small establishments located in Belle Époque villas, historic buildings, or charming mansions, often tastefully decorated and offering a more personalized experience than large hotels. These establishments are located in the city center, along the Promenade des Anglais, and on a few quieter streets, allowing guests to enjoy Nice in an intimate and elegant atmosphere.
1. Best Western Le Riviera Collection Hotel (4 stars)
Why stay there?
In the heart of Nice, we discovered an elegant and intimate hotel: the Le Riviera Collection BW Signature Collection by Best Western. Behind its 1920s-era façade, we enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere, contemporary decor inspired by Art Deco, and lovely spaces perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We also have fond memories of the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff.
Housed in this Art Deco building dating from the 1920s, the bright light in our hotel room invited us to relax. Minimalist, understated decor; Mediterranean colors, primarily white and Klein blue; geometric shapes… This refined atmosphere embodies the Côte d’Azur lifestyle. An accommodation that we really liked!

2. The Hotel La Villa Nice Promenade (4-star)
Why stay there?
Housed in a historic 19th-century Nice residence that once belonged to the family of Jacques Médecin, a former mayor of Nice, the Hôtel La Villa Nice Promenade enjoys a prime location just a few steps from the Promenade des Anglais. We were charmed by this delightful spot, which elegantly blends the character of the past with a more contemporary decor. High-quality materials, the play of light, and beautiful textures create an atmosphere that is both cozy and sophisticated. Every space—from the common areas to the guest rooms—has been carefully designed to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And from our balcony, we even had the pleasure of enjoying a lovely view of the beach.
