Most of the places in our selection are located in the historic district, among pedestrian-only streets, art galleries, and café terraces. This is the option we recommend for a car-free stay.

Benefits:
- Larger gardens, often with multiple pools,
- It’s quieter than downtown, yet still within walking distance,
Disadvantages:
- A 10- to 15-minute walk to downtown,
- A car is still useful for evenings spent outside the village,
- There isn’t much nightlife in the immediate vicinity.

At the foot of the Alpilles mountain range, a few establishments are nestled in the countryside, just a few minutes’ drive from the village. This is the option we recommend for a truly relaxing stay, far from the hustle and bustle.

Disadvantages:
- A car is essential for getting to downtown,
- Generally higher rates,

On Wednesdays, when the Provençal market is held, the downtown area gets very crowded: it’s best to book a room with easy access to parking. During peak season, we recommend booking several months in advance, as charming accommodations fill up quickly.

Located 200 meters from the historic center, this fully renovated boutique hotel takes its name from its century-old fig trees, which cast shade over a garden with a Mediterranean atmosphere. Each of the 14 ground-floor rooms is unique, with its own distinct patina and furniture sourced from the region or elsewhere. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, featuring local and organic products, served on the private terrace of our room or on the hotel’s terrace.
The modestly sized, heated pool rounds out this unique setting. What sets this place apart is precisely its atmosphere of a hidden garden, just a stone’s throw from the bustling streets. We loved relaxing there after a long day exploring the Alpilles.

What sets this establishment apart is its status as a historic residence that once hosted Chateaubriand and Lamartine. It’s a 15-minute walk from downtown, and it also offers easy access to the Glanum archaeological site. We recommend this place for a romantic getaway away from the hustle and bustle.

We found the decor to be tasteful and original, with each room featuring its own unique style. The heated pool, surrounded by cypress trees, is one of the property’s greatest assets—and breakfast features fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
What sets this small hotel apart is its intimate size: just twelve rooms, including two suites, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It makes it easy to explore the area on foot.

Set back from the hustle and bustle of downtown, this contemporary stone building embodies the region’s authentic charm. We were charmed by the attention to detail in the decor, which has a warm Provençal feel, as well as by the central patio, which is perfect for enjoying an aperitif.
Fanny and Jonathan, who founded this property in 2012, offer ten guest rooms and a Provençal farmhouse, as well as a gourmet restaurant that has held two Michelin stars since 2025.

Why stay there?
Tucked away on a pedestrian street in the city center, this 17th-century mansion—once the home of the Tourrel d’Almeran family—has retained its high ceilings and original moldings. We found the decor to be decidedly minimalist, featuring shades of white and beige along with designer furniture. The nine suites, ranging from 30 to 62 square meters, feature heated hardwood floors, Apple TV, and Aesop products in the bathrooms.
The heated rooftop pool and the restaurant, which has been awarded a “Key” by the Michelin Guide, round out the experience. What sets this place apart is its exceptional architecture, which has been meticulously restored by a couple of architects.

6. Gounod Hotel
Why stay there?
Located across from the Saint-Martin Collegiate Church, right in the heart of the village, this hotel owes its name to the composer Charles Gounod, who wrote part of his work there. Each room has been carefully redecorated, blending modernity with authenticity; there is no elevator out of respect for this historic building.
We found the inner courtyard particularly pleasant, with its 12-meter-long pool and spa area. A bar welcomes customers all week long to sample local wines.

A 10-minute walk from the town center, within the protected area of Glanum, this old 19th-century dry-stone farmhouse is surrounded by a garden spanning more than 10,000 m² and planted with century-old olive trees, lavender, and rosemary. The rooms, each uniquely decorated, feature a private garden or a view of the Alpilles.
We especially loved the gentle murmur of the fountains and the Anduze vases overflowing with geraniums, scattered throughout the park. La Table d’Yvan serves Provençal cuisine made with fresh ingredients, either indoors or on the terrace.

The property features thirty rooms and suites, as well as a villa, ranging from a 29-square-meter studio to a 53-square-meter prestige suite. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and also features a rooftop terrace open from late April through late September.

We loved the park, which spans more than one hectare and is planted with umbrella pines, centuries-old plane trees, and aromatic plants that fill the air with their fragrance. The pool, shaded by olive trees, is the heart of the property. A spa with a Turkish bath is available by reservation to help you relax even longer.

The spacious garden, shaded by a century-old cedar tree, features a swimming pool where refreshments are served. The breakfast buffet, featuring both savory and sweet options, showcases homemade regional specialties and is served in the dining room or on the flower-filled terrace.
