The Hôtel Carlton is one of our favorite hotels in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Its many assets make it an ideal base for a stay on the French Riviera:

- A haven of peace around a swimming pool: we appreciated the quiet, unspoilt setting of the village, perfectly echoed by the Hôtel Carlton.

Is the Carlton Hotel worth it? Our review
In our opinion, the Hôtel Carlton is an excellent option for enjoying the calm and elegance of Beaulieu-sur-Mer. This very pleasant establishment perfectly combines authenticity and modern comfort. The presence of a beautiful swimming pool and the immediate proximity of the beach make it a judicious choice for a successful stay on the Côte d’Azur. The hotel’s peaceful, refined atmosphere allowed us to fully experience the art of Côte d’Azur living, far from the hustle and bustle of the big seaside resorts.
Decoration and atmosphere
The ambience is the hotel’s main attraction. Each piece features a carefully chosen dominant color to create an elegant and sophisticated visual harmony. We really liked this decorative approach. It gives the establishment a contemporary personality where each space tells a story.

The room
If the view wasn’t exceptional, our room was just like the hotel: elegant, sober and sufficiently spacious. We loved the beautiful headboard adorned with gold details and the sophisticated lighting fixtures. Floral wallpaper with gold dots added a refined touch without ostentation.
We also had practical equipment such as a kettle and bottled water.

The bathroom
The bathroom had only one shower, but the pressure was excellent, with several jet options.
We really liked the L’Occitane en Provence products on offer. If the hotel doesn’t provide bathrobes, there were comfortable slippers.

Breakfast
We enjoyed a generous and varied buffet with fresh pastries, yoghurts, fresh-cut fruit and a selection of cheeses and charcuterie. Eggs prepared in a variety of ways and a few chopped vegetables completed the menu.
But it was the homemade apricot tart that won all our votes! Enjoy in the dining room or on the terrace in the mild morning air.
Equipment and common areas
The Hotel Carlton boasts a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by comfortable sun loungers overlooking the hotel’s architecture. This space is a haven of peace for relaxation and refreshment.
We made special mention of the bar, where we admired the decor and colors. Velvet armchairs invite you to relax in a refined setting, perfect for enjoying a cocktail or simply unwinding in a sophisticated ambience.
The story
Built in the 1920s, the original establishment comprised three buildings in elegant Art Deco style. An ode to the resorts of the Roaring Twenties, the hotel continues to evoke the golden age of the Côte d’Azur, frequented by aristocrats and artists in search of sun and glamour. The spirit of the Carlton has definitely survived!
The restoration
Hôtel Carlton does not have an on-site restaurant. This encouraged us to discover the village’s gastronomic riches and select our best restaurants in Beaulieu-sur-Mer.

- By train: Beaulieu-sur-Mer SNCF train station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
- By car: A8 freeway, Nice-Est exit, then head for Monaco via Basse Corniche
- By bus: Regular bus service to Nice, Monaco and surrounding villages
