Climate on the Côte d’Azur in November – weather forecast

The weather on the Côte d’Azur in November is generally mild and pleasant, marking the transition to winter. Days are often sunny, but shorter than in summer. The sky can be variable, alternating between periods of sunshine and cloudy spells. Temperatures are cool but comfortable, ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking or visiting villages.

The mistral, a cold, dry wind from the north, can sometimes blow, bringing cooler air and clearing the skies. Precipitation is more frequent than in summer, but remains moderate. A few days of rain can be expected during the month, often in the form of showers rather than continuous downpours.

Rain and Wind

In November on the Côte d’Azur, rainfall is more frequent than in summer, but remains moderate. We can expect short, sometimes intense showers, rather than continuous downpours. Rainy spells are generally short-lived, giving way to sunny spells. There may be periods of heavier rain, but these are less frequent.

It’s extremely rare to see snow on the Côte d’Azur in November. Temperatures generally remain above freezing, even at night. Snow may occasionally fall on the peaks of the Alpes-Maritimes inland, but not on the coast itself.

In November, the wind on the Côte d’Azur can be variable. The Mistral, a cold, dry wind from the north, can blow in spells, bringing fresh air and clearing the skies. These periods of mistral alternate with calmer moments. Average wind speed is moderate, generally between 10 and 20 km/h, but can increase during mistral episodes.

The sun rises around 7:30am and sets around 5pm.

In November on the Côte d’Azur, the sun shines for around 5 to 6 hours a day, offering beautiful sunny spells despite shorter days. In November, the Côte d’Azur saw a significant drop in tourist numbers compared to the high summer season. There are fewer crowds, so you can enjoy a calmer, more authentic atmosphere. Sights, beaches and restaurants are less crowded, offering a more relaxing experience.

This tranquility also allows us to better appreciate the beauty of the region, without the pressure of large crowds. It’s an ideal time to explore the Côte d’Azur in more serene and pleasant conditions.

Although most establishments, restaurants and tourist sites remain open, some seasonal facilities, such as outdoor swimming pools, may be closed or have restricted access.

  • Prince’s Day in Monaco
    Celebrated every November 19, Prince’s Day is a day of national celebration in Monaco, in honor of the Monegasque sovereign. The event is marked by official ceremonies, military parades and festivities throughout the Principality, bringing Monegasques together to express their attachment to the Prince and the princely family.

    This annual festival in Hyères is dedicated to underwater exploration and ocean protection.     Since 2008, this sporting event has attracted thousands of runners every year for an exceptional route between Nice and Cannes along the Mediterranean.
