We were won over by this legendary stretch of coastline, which combines seaside relaxation with a festive atmosphere in an authentic Mediterranean setting. In this article, you’ll find our photos and tips for making the most of your visit to Plage de Pampelonne.

This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is the Plage de Pampelonne worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful beach and well worth a visit. This mythical beach seduced us with its impressive expanse and diversity of atmospheres. We particularly appreciated being able to choose between different areas according to our desires: from quiet family areas to lively beach clubs. The turquoise waters and fine sand create an idyllic setting that fully justifies Pampelonne’s international renown.
It’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the Côte d’Azur and also one of Saint-Tropez’s main attractions.

Access by car and parking
To reach Plage de Pampelonne by car from Saint-Tropez, take the Route de Tahiti along the coast.
We found that several parking lots are available along the beach, generally at a charge in high season. Rates vary according to location and season, from €10 to €15 per day in summer.
We recommend arriving early in the morning to take advantage of the best parking spaces, as parking quickly becomes saturated during the day in the summer season.

Access from the parking lot
Once you’ve parked your car, it’s an easy walk to the beach. We found that most parking lots are only a few minutes’ walk from the sand. Depending on which part of the 4.5km beach you choose, you’ll cross either surfaced pathsways or more natural trails lined with Mediterranean vegetation. Access is generally flat and passable, making it easy to transport your beach gear.

Public transport access
The Plage de Pampelonne is accessible by bus from Saint-Tropez during the summer season. Maritime shuttles also link the port of Saint-Tropez to the various beaches of Pampelonne, offering a pleasant alternative to traffic jams. We appreciated this option, which allows us to enjoy a sea crossing and still reach the beach easily. Timetables and frequencies vary according to the season, so we advise you to check the information in advance.
