This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is the Salis beach worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful beach and well worth a visit. We particularly recommend it for families, as the slope is gentle and the water shallow. This long sandy beach is ideal for relaxing, with its panoramic view over the old town. What’s more, it’s just a stone’s throw from Plage de l’Ilette, where you’ll find the water sports centre!
It’s one of the town’s main attractions, next to the beautiful Plage du Ponteil.
Beach type
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made of fine golden sand. We loved dipping our toes in. On the other hand, the closer you get to the nautical base and Plage de l’Ilette, the more you’ll come across pebbles instead of sand.
Installations
We found public showers and toilets right on the beach.
Monitoring
The beach is supervised only during the opening hours of the lifeguard station, indicated by a flag.
Conditions for swimming
The water is transparent and shallow. The slope is gentle and gradual, ideal for family bathing. However, jellyfish and algae are sometimes present, at random.
