Located near Cannes, the Plage du Château in Mandelieu-la-Napoule totally charmed us! It is bordered by the coastal path, which stretches for 3 kilometers. It also offers a magnificent view of the historic monument at the water’s edge.

Is Château de la Napoule beach worth the effort?
Yes, it’s a charming little beach that’s well worth a visit! In fact, it features in our article on the most beautiful beaches in and around Cannes.
Warmed by the Mediterranean sun, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Château de la Napoule, one of the best on the coast. This beach is ideal for a pleasant day out with family or friends in a unique setting. Beyond the stunning scenery, you’ll have the chance to walk under the cobbled arches of the historic building. What’s more, you’ll have easy access to the restaurants lining the beach. It’s also on the coastal path. We were seduced by this picturesque stroll along the water’s edge!

Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine golden sand.
We loved dipping our toes in.
Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are very good. The descent into the water is gradual. We recommend you take a mask and snorkel along the rocks.
Signs indicate that the beach is supervised in season.
Installations
We found showers and toilets right on the beach.
Plage du Château in Mandelieu-la-Napoule: how to get there
Where is Château de la Napoule Beach?
- In the commune of Mandelieu-la-Napoule,
- At the western end of Cannes,
- From Cannes to Plage du Château: 15 to 20min drive.
Access by car and parking
To get to Plage du Château from Cannes, simply take Boulevard Louise Moreau, which runs along the seafront to the west of the town. The route is very straightforward: just keep going straight for about 15 minutes on the D6098. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll notice herringbone parking spaces in the middle of the road opposite Port La Napoule.

Access from the parking lot
From the parking lot, follow the harbour to the west, then continue straight ahead. Once you’ve passed the Restaurant Le Boucanier, you’ll see the sands of the beach.
Public transport access
If you’re coming from Cannes, take Palmbus line 22 and get off at the “Port de la Napoule” stop. The journey takes an average of twenty minutes. Find out more here.

Dog
Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Reduced mobility access
There is a parking space reserved for people with reduced mobility at the entrance to the beach, but you have to go down some steps to access the sand.
The coastal path is very irregular, made up of cobblestones, rocks and sand. The walk is therefore difficult for people with mobility problems.
With children
The slope to enter the water is gentle and gradual. Perfect for swimming with the kids! What’s more, the beach is small, making it easier to keep an eye on your toddlers.
Naturism
It is not possible to practice naturism on this beach.
Eating out
We observed many restaurants around the Plage du Château de la Napoule. We particularly recommend Restaurant Le Boucanier, next to the beach and facing the marina. So, tempted by a meal with your feet in the water?
