Are you visiting the Côte d’ Azur and wondering which Cassis beach to visit? We recommend Plage du Bestouan. Close to the town center, it offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and crystal-clear water. Young and old alike will appreciate a salty stopover on this beautiful stretch of pebbles on the shores of the Méditérrannée.
Here are some useful tips for planning your visit to Plage du Bestouan in Cassis.
This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is Plage du Bestouan worth it?
Certainly! Made up of golden pebbles, this beautiful 150 m-long beach is the second longest in downtown Cassis. In fact, it’s one of the city’s most beautiful beaches. It offers an exceptional panorama of Cap Canaille. It’s quite narrow, but we found it very pleasant.
It’s also one of Cassis’ main attractions!
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made of small flat pebbles. You won’t find any sand. We did, however, enjoy walking on it, as the pebbles didn’t feel painful.
Swimming conditions and supervision
The Bestouan beach is supervised in summer, and the slope leading into the water is gentle. We think these criteria make it ideal for families!
Installations
We didn’t see any showers or toilets on or near the beach.

Eating out
There’s a restaurant open in high season on Plage du Bestouan. Here you can enjoy a gourmet stopover and a refreshing drink. We also found that deckchairs could be rented directly from the restaurant.
Otherwise, note that this beach has the advantage of being right in the heart of Cassis. So you can easily eat out before or after swimming. In fact, the city is home to some very fine restaurants! Discover them in our article dedicated to the best restaurants in Cassis.
