To the east of Nice, Coco Beach boasts beautiful flat rocks and crystal-clear water. We were seduced by this rocky little corner of paradise, which offers a unique bathing experience with its ladders to the sea.
In this article, you’ll find our photos and tips for making the most of your visit to Coco Beach.

This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is Coco Beach worth it?
Yes, this unique rocky beach is well worth a visit.
Its rocky landscape and panoramic views over the Mediterranean city make it an ideal location for photography enthusiasts or for those who prefer to avoid the sand. We particularly appreciated the sparkling waters and the breathtaking view over the Baie des Anges. This beach, popular with locals, is a haven of tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of tourism.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
Coco Beach has neither sand nor pebbles. It consists entirely of rocks. We liked these platforms, which are particularly flat and comfortable to sit on. Paths and stairways have been carved out of the rock to facilitate movement.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming on this beach requires a certain amount of vigilance. The water quickly becomes deep and there is no area for gradual entry. Ladders have been installed to facilitate access to the sea from the rocks. We advise you to exercise extreme caution, especially in case of heavy swell.
Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season.

Installations
The beach has showers, but no toilets or deckchair/umbrella hire.

Special features
Dog
Dogs are not allowed on the beach.

Reduced mobility access
Coco Beach has nospecial facilities for people with reduced mobility. We didn’t find any adapted equipment or dedicated services. What’s more, access can be complicated by the relief created by the rocks.

With children
This beach is not recommended for children. The absence of sand and the presence only of rocks make access more difficult. What’s more, entry to the water is only possible via ladders, which can be a challenge for the little ones.
If you’re looking for a more child-friendly beach, we recommend Plage Magnan, listed in our article dedicated to the most beautiful beaches in Nice.

Naturism
It is not possible to practice naturism on this beach.
Eating out
There’s no on-site catering, but good news, you’re not far from Nice! If you’re feeling hungry and haven’t planned a picnic, go for lunch. The city is home to some very fine restaurants. Discover our article dedicated to the best restaurants in Nice.
Here are our favorites:
- Restaurant JAN (1 star): this establishment offered us a sensory and poetic experience during a dinner combining South African influences and French gastronomy.
- Restaurant Sweet Sisters: if you’re looking for a colorful place to enjoy a healthy meal in Nice, this is it! Around the corner, we discovered this pastry shop/salad bar where we made our own well-balanced salad.
- Restaurant Peixes: for seafood lovers (and for our own pleasure), this restaurant with its soothing marine ambience offers a modern seafood menu.
