Are you staying in the Côte d’ Azur resort of Bandol and looking for a place to swim? The fine golden sands of the Casino beach should make for a pleasant swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean.
Here are some useful tips for planning your visit to the Casino beach in Bandol.
This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is Plage du Casino worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful beach and well worth a visit. Apart from its fine sand and turquoise waters, it’s the beach’s facilities that make it particularly attractive. We found a beach volleyball court, a water sports center offering a wide range of activities, and a garden perfect for a siesta in the shade. Everything you need for a family break, perhaps after exploring the magnificent offshore islands.
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made of fine golden sand. There’s a bit of seaweed, but we loved dipping our toes in.

The beach is gently sloping, with no rocks or pebbles.
Plage du Casino is very popular in summer. There’s also a first-aid post. Supervision is provided by lifeguards from Bandol’s SNSM lifeguard service from June to September. Find out more here.
Installations
We’ve spotted showers and toilets along the beach.
