Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Promenade de la Croisette? Located a 15-minute drive from downtown Cannes, Plage de la Bocca is particularly family-friendly. The magnificent Mediterranean landscape totally seduced us!
Here are our practical tips and photos for discovering the beach.
This guide is completely independent, based on our experiences. We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.
Is Plage de la Bocca worth it?
The Plage de la Bocca is well worth a visit, especially if you want to spend some quality time with family and friends! It is less crowded than the Plages de la Croisette, and offers a beautiful view of the Massif de l’Estérel. You can also enjoy a variety of water sports activities for young and old alike!
In fact, it’s one of the city’s main attractions and one of its best beaches.
Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine golden sand. It’s ideal for walks with your feet in the water. Here, we observed several pontoons jutting out into the sea, offering views over the Bay of Cannes.
Installations
We observed showers and toilets along the beach.
Monitoring
We couldn’t find any verified information about beach surveillance.
Conditions for swimming
Entering the water is very pleasant, as the slope is gentle and gradual. It makes you want to swim! Water quality is regulated.

Where is Plage de la Bocca?
- In the town of Cannes to the west,
- On the outskirts of Mandelieu-la-Napoule,
- Access from Suquet: 10min by car.
Access by car and parking
From downtown Cannes, turn onto Boulevard du Midi Louise Moreau, and drive straight ahead for about 10min. Once you’re near the Plage de la Bocca, you’ll notice the herringbone-shaped parking spaces facing the sea.

- Choose a car that is powerful enough (the roads are steep) but compact (some passages are narrow).

Access from the parking lot
Once parked, simply cross the road to the promenade overlooking the beach. Take a stroll and you’ll discover staircases leading down to the sand.
Public transport access
You can also get there by public transport. Bus line 22 to Théoule-Mairie stops here. Find out more here.

Dog
We didn’t see any signs indicating whether dog access was permitted.
Access for people with reduced mobility
Unfortunately, we did not observe any facilities for access by people with reduced mobility.
Access with children
The slope for entering the water is particularly suitable for children, as it is progressive. You can also enjoy water sports on the beach. Find out more here.
Naturism
It is not possible to practice naturism on this beach.
Eating out
You’ll have 2 options for lunch or dinner right on the beach. We observed kiosks offering fast food (sandwiches, salads). They are located along the promenade facing the sea.
Alternatively, you can try the Restaurant Le Cabanon, set right on the sand. Enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in a unique setting!
