Some disadvantages of a trip to Cassis
Crowds and traffic
Cassis is a very busy town, especially in summer. Parking and traffic can be very difficult. There isn’t much space for cars, and the streets in the city center are narrow and winding. What’s more, there are few free parking spaces, and paid parking lots are often full.
To avoid these difficulties, we recommend that you visit us during the low season. Why not in spring or autumn? So we recommend parking in a parking lot a little way from the city center and then walking.

A sloping city
Although it’s by the sea, Cassis is partly built on high ground. If you want to explore the city on foot, be prepared for gentle climbs and take comfortable shoes. The castle, for example, is located on a cliff top. Be brave, it’s worth the detour!

Rates
Visiting the Côte d’Azur isn’t cheap. Accommodation as well as restaurants and excursions cost a certain amount. We recommend booking in advance to take advantage of special rates at the city’s top-rated accommodations. But don’t worry, there are always last-minute offers for impromptu weekends! See our article on the city’s best hotels.

Weather
Summer temperatures can also be quite hot on the Côte d’Azur. If you’re sensitive to heat, go out in the morning and second half of the afternoon. The rest of the year, the climate is generally mild and sunny. Why not visit Cassis and the surrounding area in spring or autumn?
