We were recently lucky enough to stay at the Hôtel Le Suquet in Cannes.
Located in the historic district, we were charmed by the Mediterranean setting and bohemian chic ambiance of the establishment. From the balcony of our room, we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the sea and the old town.
In this article, we share with you our experience in this establishment through photos and an account of our stay.
This review is completely independent, we stayed anonymously and paid our bill in full.
Why stay at Hôtel Le Suquet Cannes?
This establishment is full of character. We had a memorable stay. Here are its 3 main assets, in our opinion:
- location: nestled in the heart of the historic Suquet district, the hotel is within easy reach of the city’s main tourist attractions. We were charmed by the picturesque and authentic atmosphere of the place.
- its view: we enjoyed a spectacular panorama of the sea and the red roofs of Cannes from our room’s balcony. We found the landscape magical, blending nature, history and the city. We could even see the Château de la Castre!
- its charm: far from the glamorous, extravagant atmosphere of the Croisette, this hotel on a human scale totally won us over. Its architecture and colorful shutters, typical of Mediterranean houses, gave it a lot of cachet.

Is the Hôtel Le Suquet in Cannes worth it? Our review
Absolutely! It is one of our favorite establishments in Cannes. If you’re looking for an experience that combines comfort, luxury and authenticity, we highly recommend this 4-star hotel.
Located in the historic Suquet district, we found its location ideal. It’s easy to visit the old town, day or night! What’s more, we had a superb view of the bay and Château de la Castre from our balcony.

Decoration and atmosphere
The hotel’s bohemian-chic decor invites you to relax and unwind. We were seduced by the sleek, elegant setting, with its neutral tones and interesting interplay of materials and textures. The sobriety of the colors was very soothing for the eyes and the mind.
The cocooning atmosphere of the place seduced us. You’ll feel right at home in this charming, comfortable establishment! The hotel was bathed in light, which made it very pleasant. It had numerous windows and bay windows. We could breathe, and put our brains on hold for the duration of our stay!
The room
Our room was decorated with taste and simplicity. It was very bright thanks to the 2 large bay windows, adorned with long, pretty curtains. On either side of our bed, woven-straw light fixtures added a warm touch to the ensemble. A small frame with an abstract face hung over the bed completed the decoration of the night space.
From the balcony of our room, the panorama was breathtaking. We could see the sea, the old town and the mountain range on the horizon. We enjoyed an almost 360-degree view!

The bathroom
Our bathroom had a lot of character, with its textured-effect tiles and sober, functional furniture. A shower was installed in a corner of the room, and a large window let in the light.

THE SAME MISTAKE WE
On one of our last trips to Europe, a hacker stole our credit card details while we were using a hotel WiFi.
So our trip began with a “card blocked” call… Not funny at all!

The breakfast
To wake up gently, we recommend you try the hotel’s continental breakfast. It is available for a supplement of €22, and can be served directly in your room. For our part, we settled into the restaurant’s dining room, as we really liked the way it was decorated. We enjoyed the choice of products on offer: fruit juices, hot drinks, pastries, breads, jams, honey, fruit, maple syrup, and other delicacies!
Equipment and common areas
In the hotel lobby, you’ll find a large communal area with plenty of comfortable sofas and armchairs. There’s also a large hanging TV, and board games available. This room is very convivial, a real place for sharing!
Pool
The establishment has a small outdoor swimming pool open seasonally (May to October), surrounded by a terrace. Sit back on a deckchair under a parasol and enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine between 2 swims!

The restoration
If you feel a little thirsty, you can visit the hotel bar. The restaurant is open from March to October, from midday to midnight. It is located under a large veranda, which is a real skylight. The menu features Mediterranean flavors. With fresh produce from the Forville market, and herbs and vegetables grown in the onsite kitchen garden, you’re in for a treat!
If you prefer to eat out, there’s a good choice of restaurants nearby. We recommend that you read our article on the city’s best restaurants for a unique experience!
A little history
Yannick Bastoni opened this establishment after 23 years’ experience in the luxury hotel business. He comes from the Suquet district, for which he has a real love. The owner offers accommodation combining quality and charm at an affordable price, far from the glamorous image of Cannes and its Croisette.
