With its turquoise waters, impressive cliffs and tranquil setting, the beach at Èze is well worth a visit before or after visiting the village.
Here are our practical tips for planning your visit to the beach at Èze between Nice and Monaco.

Is Èze beach worth it?

Yes, it’s a beautiful beach and well worth a visit.
We fell in love with this beach, which is much less well known than its associated village: Èze.
We loved the blue-graded waters, from turquoise to deep sapphire, creating a captivating aquatic landscape. We were also fascinated by the view of the sheer cliffs, offering a dramatic yet majestic setting.

Éze beach

Admittedly, it’s not a sandy beach, but we find it beautiful and much quieter: a place to rest and breathe. We enjoyed the serenity.
In our opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the Côte d’Azur.

Type of beach

Sand or no sand?

The soil of Èze beach is made of medium-sized pebbles.
We recommend that you wear swimming shoes.

Swimming conditions and supervision

The water is crystal clear, the slope gentle and the bay very pleasant for swimming.
Signs indicate that a small portion of the beach is supervised in season.

Installations

A few showers along the beach.
Public toilets at the station and near the first-aid post.

Where to find Èze beach

  • In the town of Èze next to the station
  • Please note that two beaches are identified as Èze beach on Google Maps
  • Under the famous village of Èze(see our guide)
  • Beaulieu-sur-Mer to Èze beach = 5 min drive
  • Nice to Èze beach = 35 min.
  • Monaco to Èze beach = 20 min
  • Use the map below to locate Èze on the Côte d’Azur:

Access by car and parking

Easy access by car, just head for the station.
There are parking spaces along the road and railway tracks.
But there aren’t many places.

OUR TPS FOR RENTING YOUR CAR IN Provence
  • Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
  • Choose a car that is powerful enough (the roads are steep) but compact (some passages are narrow).
  • Think of thecomplete insurance (some roads are tortuous and narrow).
  • There is a lot of demand, book it early.

Access from the road

From the road, you have to go underground, under the railway line, to reach the beach. There are two of them.

beach access

Public transport access

The beach is right next to the Èze train station.
From the station, a bus takes you up to the famous village and its exotic garden.
But if you’ve got a bit of time before getting back on the train, go and relax on the beach.

Special features

Dog

The signs are not clear about dogs.
Some say “no dogs allowed”, others say “allowed on leash”. So we can’t answer your questions.

Reduced mobility access

There’s a ramp down to the beach, but it’s all pebbles after that.

With children

Since there’s no sand, it’s not the ideal beach for children.

Naturism

We didn’t see any information about naturism on site. But Google Maps indicates that a stretch of beach to the east is naturist.

Eating out

There are only a few houses around the station.
Along the rue de la gare, there’s an Italian restaurant: Da Rossana.

Hotels

The two hotels inside the medieval village (400m above the beach) are luxury establishments. But they’re worth the detour.
A night in this village offers a unique experience, like a journey back in time with unforgettable views.
Walking around the village at night is a privilege. What if walls could talk?
